Comment on BB’s Hypnotism – sceened Thurs night. (fell free to move elsewhere)

On the ‘men having babies’ exercise. As i understand it, the role of the hypnotist is to keep the conscious self/conscious part of us at the very back of our mind. Like being in a dream we know is a dream but cannot stop ourselves experiencing.

I found it interesting that out of the three boys – David, Travis, Nobbi – who were ‘giving birth’, two experienced it in a similar way to each other, but Travis had a very different reaction when his ‘baby’ was ‘born’.

I am not a psych, nor an expert in anything – this is simply an observation, and I am not making a judgement on Travis’s sexuality or lack/maybe not lack (ie possibility of him ‘playing the game’) but when Nobbi and David ‘gave birth’, they looked at they imaginary child with such adoration, amazement..dare I say, love. Travis popped his out, named it in a split second and proceeded to try and show it off. For the other two boys it seemed an inward, personal experience to be shared with themselves and only them. For Travis it seemed to be an opporunity to show off something he has done, some achievement and it could be said that by naming his imaginary child he was instantly turning it into a possesion, something for him to own.

I am not suggesting that Travis will own his chilren or anything else, but hypothetically, if people, while in a hypnotised state, show parts of their sub conscious, what could this show about the differences between Travis, Nobbi, David and the cultures and societies they have been raised in? Or even – dare I say it – their generational gap?

I do talk a lot of shit, but that’s what I was thinking about as I was watching.
