Fighting for his life in Afghanistan

A Day in the Life Add comments

On September 2, 2008 SAS trooper Mark Donaldson was patrolling through a remote valley in Afghanistan when all hell broke loose.Over the next three hours of furious fighting nine of 13 Australians on the mission were wounded. Under heavy enemy fire Donaldson protected injured troops and rescued an afghan interpreter blown out of a Humvee. He was awarded a Victoria Cross, but the dramas of September 2008 were not the first he has faced. I spoke to Corporal Donaldson VC on ABC TV’s OnePlusOne. Watch it on ABC News24 at 9.30 tonight or watch online here.
